Shawna Moore Encaustic Painter

By teaching encaustic painting workshops and art and yoga retreats around the world, Shawna Moore creates the life and practices that sustain her. An unyielding curiosity motivates this artist to find new ways to look at the processes of creative practice and encaustic painting. Her encaustic workshops are driven by a strong technical understanding that allow the materials to be stretched and explored in new ways. The large encaustic paintings she creates evoke memories of old maps, love letters or well worn fresco. She dives into the mystery of art and life with a love for her medium of encaustic or wax based paint and a deep foundation of drawing, painting and 20th and 21st century modernist art. Both a student and a teacher of art and yoga, Moore blends the depth of wisdom teachings and the traditional practices of yoga with a modern view of inspired living and freedom through arts, both in her own practice and as a guide.
