Even Artists Collect My Work

I met my friend Isabelle Goughenhiem when we arranged one of the private workshops I used to teach in my former art studio. We really hit it off and arranged for our kids to meet on a trip to her home in Chicago.

I taught a workshop there and we explored the city. The highlight was the Mark Bradford exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art. From there we continued to visit one another and exchange ideas about life and art.

I needed a chic French woman to take me to a perfumery, help me plan a trip to Paris and give me a nudge to throw on a scarf. Isabelle fell in love with Central Axis and after years of wishing, we finally placed it in her showroom.

Eventually she couldn’t resist moving it to her home in Bucktown. I never really know the journey the artwork will take but this one certainly found a good home!
